To celebrate the launch of our iconic yellow boot in 1973, Timberland assembled a team of Future Makers to celebrate 50-years of bold design through their own unique design lens. Nina Chanel Abney is best known for her bold, distinctive capture of the frenetic pace of contemporary culture. Her design process begins by gathering photos and archival imagery before it takes the shape of hand-drawn artwork and eventually graphics for knits and prints incorporated into her fashion.

Inspired by working at our headquarters in New Hampshire and seeing the materials and colors firsthand, she melded fashion with hiking, styling, and function.
