The titans of fashion and film were already well into cocktail-hour schmoozing at Chanel’s Tribeca Film Festival artists’ dinner—held at downtown institution Odeon—when the skies parted, and suddenly Kanye West and Kim Kardashian appeared before us. (O.K., they probably arrived in a car, but it felt sort of heavenly.) The pair—newly on the scene as a couple, or at least, something close to it—mixed and mingled, and once seated for dinner, Kanye was between Leelee Sobieski and Camilla Belle, while Kim sat across from him, the better to gaze lovingly at one another. Those Chanel folks think of everything.
