The red carpet risk taker and thrice Oscar-nominated star is quite overdue for this honor, don't you think? So without further ado, let's get this retrospective started! While she hit our radar as the long-suffering (and ultimately doomed) Jen Lindley on Dawson's Creek, after the show ended, Michelle garnered the critical praise (and her first Oscar nomination) for role in the 2005 movie Brokeback Mountain. Here she is working the awards circuit at the Golden Globes—where she was also a nominee—wearing a beautifully tiered tulle Givenchy gown. There is no Michelle Williams best gowns list (or best gowns of all time by anyone tally) without her iconic (yes, I'm going to use that word) canary yellow Vera Wang gown at the 2006 Academy Awards.
